A year ago today, I was not in a good place. I’ll spare you the details, but my therapist convinced me I could start the year sober and I decided to start early.
A year ago, I was about 50 pounds heavier, blood sugar out of control, liver enzymes out of whack, and depressed to the extreme.
Today I have hobbies, visit the gym, volunteer, and am happier than I’ve been ever. I’m much more self-confident. And instead of tolerating the present, I very much look forward to the future.
I took it one day at a time. For the first 30 days, the cravings were regular. They returned at 60 and 90 days, then six months and now close to a year, just like my doctor said they would.
If I can do it, you can. Merry Christmas and IWNDWYT.
