Has anyone who suffers from skin conditions such as psoriasis seen improvement when quitting?
Post Body

Have struggled with psoriasis all over my legs for about 2 years now. Iā€™m starting to get little spots over my arms and neck, which is how my legs started before they grew and turned into large patches. No dermatologist has been able to help more than creams that stop it from drying out and becoming itchy/sore, but Iā€™ve also never been honest about how much I drink.

I say a couple of drinks every other weekend with friends instead of the truth - 2 bottles of wine/night at minimum. Iā€™ve been doing this for 5 years now. I donā€™t know how my legs got so bad and I never did anything about it (didnā€™t see a doctor until 2 years after first signs) and Iā€™m terrified Iā€™ll wake up one day and my arms will be the same.

I tell myself itā€™s because I have sensitive skin. But I know itā€™s got to be the alcohol. In 5 years I wouldnā€™t have gone more than 3 days sober, maybe two or three times.

I guess Iā€™m just looking for encouragement that other people whoā€™ve had skin conditions (doesnā€™t exactly need to be psoriasis - I struggle with rosacea and generally dry skin or over oily on my face which results in pimples and blemishes) have seen them reduce or go away once they cut the booze out.

Writing this after yet another dermatologist appointment who wrote me a script for another steroid cream to try, confused why nothing is working yet, while on my fourth pint of beer at a pub nearby. Iā€™m sorry if thatā€™s triggering and not allowed. Iā€™m just so done. And Iā€™m sick of the ā€œIā€™ll deal with it tomorrowā€ that turns into weeks, months, years.
