There's a family party happening this evening. The weather is nice so it's a BBQ and drinks. These family events typically turn into a kitchen session (or garden bar session) until all hours of the morning.
I've only been abstinent for a month and a half so won't be attending. I'm getting a lot of hassle from my sister in particular for not attending as it's my nephews birthday party.
So I'm sitting at home and was scrolling LinkedIn. I came across a picture of somebody enjoying their weekend in an outdoor beer garden drinking an ice cold beer.
Instantly I began considering attending the party and just grabbing a few beers. I've decided against it though. I'm going to stay at home and watch the Euros games and get a takeaway.
I'm not quitting forever (I think) but I am committed to not drinking for some time while I prioritise other things in my life such as my fitness and the new business I am starting.
There's so much pressure from all angles and I feel bad not attending my nephews 16th birthday but the temptation and pressure to drink will be so strong and I don't want to risk slipping up.
Looking forward to being fresh tomorrow while they're all hungover.
Happy Saturday!
