In the past, if I was trying to get a handle on my alcohol I would say "I'm taking a break" (false, the break was one or two days max). I was always afraid of saying I don't drink to anyone, because it would mean that it was "out there", and I wouldn't be able to turn back to my trusted bottle (oh the irony of trusting alcohol). At a work event tonight, my colleague asked about making sure we get some food before jumping on the booze and it just slipped out: "I don't drink anymore actually". It's out there and I'm so proud of myself. 49 days AF tomorrow. We CAN do this and IWNDWYT!
