Just found out an old friend of mine passed away

Though we stopped talking quite a long time ago due to a really ugly, messy falling out I am still devastated. The emotions hit me so hard I threw up. I thought to reach out a year ago but never did because of how awful things ended. Life is so incredibly short and now I feel guilty. I want to have a drink so bad. I need to be talked down on this.
