A sober end to a sober summer
Post Body

This is my first post here. I first joined back when I realized I was an alcoholic in march 2020, and lurked in the early pandemic days, but I drank until I went to AA early this year.

I have had the most incredible summer of my life. That’s all I want to share really. I don’t know how, just every day, I stayed calm and didn’t drink. Went to AA did steps but in between, just didn’t drink.

I’ve gone on long hikes, scenic drives, visited family, swam in the ocean, lakes, and some days I sat in the sun smoking darts doing nothing! Most weekends, but especially long weekends, I would 100% be plastered and/or hungover regretting my first 2 days of the weekend already.

Today is labour day weekend and I just got back from a hike and am now having donuts. I can’t wait for what fall brings because this summer was awesome and I finally felt free.

Thanks everyone for sharing. IWNDWYT
