But I’m still not gonna drink.
When I tell people I don’t drink, rarely do I really get into it. Mostly it’s just a passing moment. They don’t drink; moving on. That can feel lonely.
Times when it’s hard…when I’m super anxious and am working really hard to stay with my peace (not drinking), rarely does anyone around me know exactly what I’m dealing with. That also feels lonely.
I know about AA and that it’s a great place to share and feel heard and understood. I’m talking about friends and family. A huge part of my day to day life (staying sober, staying alive) is completely overlooked.
