Stone buster or hammer set for granite steps up a hill.
Post Body

I’m undertaking the rest of the stonescaping at my cottage, matching Muskoka granite handcut slab Steos with walkways of 5-point 1.5” flagstone.
I did the fire pit almost exclusively using the saw. While I’ve gotten rebit tracer and offset carbide chisels I’ve found them hard to use at the best of times. I also hate hurting my hands.
While I know I’m going to use feather wedges to split the slabs into more manageable risers, it seems like a T&H stone buster or hammer set make sense if I want to be breaking up rocks and these stupid 7” slabs.
Or am I just using my saw and wedged and my chisels for the pitching? Or would I have an easier time pitching and edging with the stone buster? They’re about $300CAD each so I don’t want to be frivolous.
