Post Body

Hello all,

I’m a 23 year old looking to start investing for the long-term future. I have about $30k I can safely invest without needing to see it again for decades. I am not knowledgeable about investing, and have no desire to spend hours regularly to buy/sell particular stocks/bonds/etc. (please let me know if you think this aversion is a big mistake).

Given this, I have met with a financial advisor, who suggested I invest my money accordingly:

$7500 into each of DIA, SPY, QQQ, and VNQ.

Do you believe this is a reasonable portfolio to have for long-term appreciation? This doesn’t include bonds or anything international, though I’m not sure how much that will matter given that I hope to hold this stuff for decades.

Any advice is much appreciated!
