Ships are now considered new for TWO YEARS when it comes to using restricted/event coupons.

All credit to u/alpharn who contacted support and were told this. I mentioned to them to make a post about it but since they have not and there are two more posts about the coupons today I figured I should.

Please note that the T6 Ship Discount Coupon cannot be used on recently released ships, as some exclusions may apply. As an example, the ships from the 13th and 14th Anniversary Bundles are considered new ships as they were only made available in-game within less than two years. Also, it would appear that other ships that are also considered new are not in the New Items section of the Zen Store as well, such as the Cyclone Intel Patrol Escort.

Previously the time limit was around one year and these coupons could even be used to buy the anniversary ships of the 12th and 13th right when they came out. When the 14th came out this year we noticed that we couldn't use them on those ships and also could no longer use them on the 13th though that happened evidently sometime before Dec 23 as there is a post here about not being able to buy the Hydra with a restricted coupon then yet I bought mine with a restricted coupon when it came out. Also as the reply states, even if the ships are not in the new section of the store they are still considered new if they are within two years of release.

So to give an idea of when ships will be available to purchase with a restricted coupon with the new two year limit.

• 13th Anniversary - ~February 2025
• 14th Anniversary - ~February 2026
• Flashback Bundle - ~July/August 2025
• Heritage Bundle - ~July/August 2026
• Dyson ships - bugged, you can buy them now, but should be May 2026. Probably fixed next patch.

My guess is that now that we get all three campaign rewards so everyone gets those coupons Cryptic increased the time limit so we can't buy last years ships with this years event reward. Which is insane since we can get last years gamble ships but that is a single ship unlock vs account.

Still I find this change a disgusting slap in the face to the players and it should be returned to the one year limit at most.
