So I was initially mailed my 1400$ stimulus check in early April. They attempted to deposit it in an old bank account but realized it was not open anymore.

So in mid June a paper check was sent , I had to wait 5-6 weeks to perform a trace because it never came, just got a letter with a copy of my check showing someone else cashed it!

It's weird because they signed it first with my signature, just my 2 initials and squiggly lines. But that's Crossed out and another signature is below it, same handwriting and same signature, just different initials!

I can't believe this! I filled out 2 pages of paper with about 20 questions asking me if I cashed it, benefited from it, had address change, etc. I answered NO to all.

Just wondering who has experience with this and if you have a timetable of how long it takes. Also, if they found the check , can't they get camera footage of the person or people responsible?
