Weird realization about one of the more popular gem theories...

If there are mutliple of each gem (as evidenced by Jasper's "defective pearl" comment and Pearl's more recent "I'm just a pearl"), would that mean that what they call each other are less names and more... titles? It makes it seem colder, somehow, but also makes sense; if "Pearls" and other gems are mass-produced, it'd be more like calling a soldier "Private" than calling them by their unique name, which, going by this theory, gems wouldn't seem to have.
