Post Body

Not exactly what it sounds like but I thought of a neat idea; Erosion, like what if gems could only go hundreds of years before needing to return to homeworld to "renew" their gem or else it would gradually become more brittle over decades and easier to Crack, this could be the closest thing gems have to aging despite it only being in the durability of the gem, and it could be why the crystal gems rooms are needed and why an immortal, self sufficient race would even be so fixated on stripping other planets of resources. Not only to make more gems but to renew the ones they have. Adding another reason any gem would be terrified of abandoning homeworld cuz sure they could make it a few hundred years, but after that their gem would break down. One of Rose's powers would naturally be to renew a gem to avoid that. Also Adding to white diamonds god mother aestetic, wanting to stay youthful and beautiful Ala the white queen from snow white. But my point it is it never felt we got enough reason beside indoctrination why a gem wouldn't rebel. I'd even say the gems finding a way to avoid this would prove this as a lie tho, they don't need the diamonds mentally OR physically. Idk. Just a Lil head Canon idea I thought of. What do tall think?
