SS (7) needs an attitude adjustment

It's simply so exhausting hearing how my SS (7) talks to DW. And of course there are no repercussions because we can't have an upset child so we just let him talk back and put up with his disrespect because he uses the threat of going to live with his dad.
The latest happened at 2.15am this morning when h called his mum stupid because his mum forgot to turn the hall lamp on for him (he wakes in the night). Give me strength.
