Too Many Activities

Anyone else dealing with this? I have three stepkids, they are all in middle school. Their BM has them signed up for two sports per child. Their activities are all on different days. Twice a week. Both my partner and I work full time corporate jobs.

I feel like all we do is work, chauffeur them to their activities and repeat. I feel like they are barely home with us.

My partner and his ex wife have 50/50 legal and physical custody, however, she took him to court over the extracurriculars (he wanted to limit them to one sport per season, she wanted them in up the three activities per season PER CHILD). In order to keep from racking up legal fees, he gave in to her demands and agreed to take them to all three of their sports. I offered to help him because I want to spend some time with the kids, even if it’s just 30 mins in the car before their practice.

It’s exhausting. Why would any parent sign their kids up for three sports? It’s insane. It’s so exhausting for the kids too. My partner thinks he’s going to have to continue this disagreement in court if it starts to impact the kids grades and school work.

One sport is fine, but 3? I don’t understand.
