I really loved 11/22/63. Upon first read, I always thought the main problem that King never really solved was "why don't you just kill Lee Harvey right away?" The answer we're given in the book is "I need to be sure first," which is flimsy. You just have to accept it and move on.
I realized today that even if you take that sentiment at face value, it still doesn't make sense. Kill Lee Harvey the first chance you get, go back to modern days. If JFK was shot anyway that day, go back through the rabbit hole for 15 seconds. Boom, Lee Harvey is unkilled.
