Just finished the novel, and I believe that the film adaptation of this book might be better than the source material.
Is it just me or did anyone find this book mediocre? The characterization of Dolores was competent but not particularly strong. I sympathized with her struggles, but it seemed she dealt with them as best she could, and I kept expecting more. It seemed a straightforward novel of 'moral greyness', but it didn't leave me struggling to reconcile which way I felt about her actions. To make a comparison, 'A Good Marriage' was far more chilling and suspense-filled. The risks felt higher. I dunno. How did you feel about Dolores Claiborne?
