Just want to share my love for this incredible and unexpected book. What an incredible journey, going in I had no idea what to expect. I thought it was going to be a ghost story when the dust bunnies were introduced.
The whole concept of doing whatever it takes to protect your kids, and the guilt haunting you for doing that, is just heartbreaking.
The whole murder sequence was so tense and horrible, definitely a turn from what I was expecting.
I just love the character of Dolores so much, and even Vera even though she’s a triple murderer lol
I think I’m the last person in the world who this book would speak to, as I’m a young guy with no experience with anything in this book. But wow, so powerful and incredible. This book is really going to stick with me I think, and I’ll be rereading it at some point.
Really curious thoughts on this book - there’s so much symbolism and comparison with Vera which was so interesting.
