Potential spoilers below! I censored as best as I could but read with caution if you haven’t read the gunslinger!
I was feeling kinda meh about the gunslinger (this is my first time reading the DT) until about halfway through the second to last chapter, The Slow Mutants. And then the final chapter literally knocked my socks off.
Finding out that the man in black was merely a lackey of some higher being kinda shocked me. I knew Flagg was in so many of King’s books so I was like WOAH!
Additionally, at the end when walter gave him a view of the universe, it reminded me SO much of the ritual of Chud in IT! The dead lights! Ugh so amazing! I also found his description of the universe incredibly powerful and frightening..talking about infinity. He made me feel small in a way even Lovecraft hasn’t done to me before.
The final chapter gripped me so hard and it has me very excited to start Drawing!!
