you've probably heard the idea of steins;??? being a thematic sequel to steins;gate with confirmed returning characters : okabe , daru and kurisu along with a new cast. however , i feel like a sequel undermines the perfect ending of the original. there's really nothing i'd like to see change and i feel like okabe deserves his happy ending , especially after so much suffering in 0 , otherwise it would feel like it was all pointless.

side note : i'm also curious when steins;??? will take place and how the older lab mems would look and act. it's hard imagining okabe work an actual job with his hououin persona (also isn't he gonna be dead by 2025 ?)
