So after reading extensive information on this headset, it was my understanding that you do not have to use the DAC. My Xbox is too far from my desk to viably use the DAC. I don't really need to adjust settings on the fly, and read that the headset will "keep" its various settings once its set up. All good.

But I cannot, for the life of me, figure out how to begin set up without the DAC. When I hook up the headset to my PC via the DAC, it seems to recognize only the DAC settings, which will not apply to the headset. However, I cannot figure out how this headset would connect directly to the PC without the DAC, as the only standard USB jack included seems to require the DAC as a mediator. Has anyone else had these issues? How do I set up the Headset -DAC?
