Montana was interested in ending his career with the Steelers, but we said... Nah we're good, we've got Neil O'Donnell.
1993 wild card. Montana 's Chiefs beat us by a field goal in overtime. Now, if we had Montana the season probably goes a little differently in the first place, but let's imagine we meet the Chiefs in the wild card. We win that game pretty easily. We'd have to face the bills in the divisional round. Can we stop them from getting to their fourth consecutive super bowl? If we do, we meet the winner of raiders/ oilers in the AFC championship. Let's say the run ends there.
And then in 1994, we definitely get those three more yards to beat the chargers and advance to super bowl 29. We were equipped to potentially beat the 49ers instead of the ass beating that the chargers got. And imagine Montana getting a revenge game against his old team in the super bowl. Perhaps we take it. And then, perhaps, he comes back for one more year.
And doesn't throw multiple interceptions in super bowl 30. Montana retires after delivering Pittsburgh back-to-back super bowls, and the Slash era begins.
