(Macbook) Anytime I click off the steam app it refreshes to the front page.

I often like to browse steam while listening to music or doing other things and often click off the steam page. Now every time I do it completely refreshes to the front page. This is driving me insane! I never had issues before at all until like 2-3 weeks ago and I have re-installed the app and looked around for many fixes but have found nothing.
