Servers of Mad Max are being shut down on 31st October.

The scrap awarded via scrap crew happens via a server check, and you won't be able to get it if the servers are down. The achievement "Up to the task" will be broken after 31st.

Edit: What should you do...

Follow the story mission (about 1 hr) until a leader named Jeet tells you to make his stronghold more...strong. this you will have to do by collecting few objects around the map. Look for videos on YouTube showing where to find "Scrap Crew Parts". There are 4 such parts. After collecting them, you can build the scrap crew.

Now how this scrap crew works is...it generates scrap (the in-game currency) when you are not playing the game. So after you have made the crew, switch off the game and come back after 24 hours. You will get some 100-200 scrap. Repeat till you get 2000.

There are 4 strongholds in the game, so you can progress further to unlock them, and gather parts to make scrap crews in those strongholds too. This will mean you will gain the scraps from the scrap crew 4 times faster.

This will complete the challenge that depends on the servers. Everything else can be done offline later, or so I'm told. Better to complete the game I'd say.
