Exponentially weighted moving average in excel (EWMA).
Post Body

Hey everyone. So I’m trying to set up a spreadsheet to quantify and have a visual representation for acute to chronic workload ratio(ACWR) (I’m a strength and conditioning coach). I’ve found the necessary tutorials to make a quite detailed spreadsheet but they only use a rolling average (7 and 28 day) and then divide the 2 to assess physical preparedness as ACWR. I’ve looked into the literature and it’s highly suggested to use an EWMA model because it’s dealing with human physiology and workouts from a month ago should be weighted less than from a week ago. Does anyone have any tips or resources (YouTube videos) that they could share on how to do an EWMA in excel? I don’t have access to statistical software unfortunately, but I know it can be done in excel! Thanks!
