Help selecting best analysis tools
Post Body

Hello, I read the rules and I hope this doesn't violate them.

I'm hoping a quick answer will point me in the right direction, it's been a few years since I've had to use statistical tools.

Quick background on the data:

  • Large set of data which is analysis results of chemical composition of a material, repeated daily. I have about 1000 days worth of data, each day has numbers for about 20 different chemical elements

  • My second data set is the performance of a consumable tool which is used on the material

I suspect the tool's useful life may be related to composition of the material, and I'm trying to determine if increase or decrease of specific elements or groups of elements drives changes (increases or decreases) in the life of the tool.

One confounding factor is that the tool lasts multiple days, so I'm not sure how to account for that.

I'm confident I can find my way through the theory, I just need to know what the correct method for finding this answer is. Any help is appreciated.
