How does transforming your data affect the conclusions you can draw?
Post Body

I transformed some data to meet the symmetry requirement of a Wilcoxon Signed Rank test which led me to start thinking about transformations in general.

If you transform data to perform any given statistical test, what is that test actually looking at? Can you always generalize the result of the test of transformed data back to the original data?
