Before the storming of the the starship, Ezra explains "Thrawn woke up the witches". The cargo being loaded has lights flashing and I think they are probably just night sisters/brothers that have been in stasis (they dont need to be reaintimated or rezzed).

Now, why they were all in stasis which, based on what Ezra said, includes the grandmother's, is probably something to be dissected and could play into the large question of "what's everyone running from"? Knowing what we saw last night, I think it lends to the idea that Abeloth is somehow involved. My current theory is, since the night sisters have dark/shadow magic that is tied to the force, Abeloth is able to corrupt and influence them. She's probably tried to influence them to release her in the past and out of necessity, the night sisters all went into hibernation in hopes (or knowing based on their threads of destiny) that someone would one day arrive that would be able to get them off world and away from Abeloths influence. But now Baylan is going to do that anyways 🤣.
