Post Body

Hello everyone, as a fluent speaker of Hebrew, Enoch's name has popped up in my head in the biblical context, to be more accurate in the context of the Old Testament and Hebrew.

  • HEBREW

Enouch is derived from the Hebrew root חנך, which means "to train", "to dictate" or "inaugurate". The term is often reserved for individuals who are very smart and advanced with their knowledge within whatever institution they are a part of, which checks out with regard to Enoch being Thrawn's 2nd in command.

  • THE OLD TESTAMENT - Apocraphy

Enoch is described as the "Guardian of all Celestial treasures" and an intermediate to G-d and men, both of these descriptions are similar to (my perceived) view of Enoch in the show, with how he was put in charge of the Mothers's treasures and subsequent transfer to the Chimera upon docking, and acting as the right hand man to Thrawn who acts like a godly man.

  • In addition:

Encoch is seen guiding the Zombified(?) troopers to formation when the Chimera docked, with the troopers being the lowest of rank, whereas the Biblical Enoch is also sometimes interpreted as the Chief of the Archangels, the lowest ranking Angels.

  • BONUS ROUND

In Christian theology, it was written that " "By faith, Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God." (Hebrews 11:5 KJV) "

The most common interpretation is that Enoch did not have a "regular" death, as he is still a mortal albeit under the divine influence of his life.

This sits perfectly with the idea that Enoch, among the rest of Thrawn's soldiers is held together by Dathamirian magic, akin to Marrok being just that, a body held together by magic.

NOTE FOR THE BOTS: THIS IS STAR WARS RELATED.
