What are the steps and costs involved in creating a ChatGPT-like model for language assessment as a small startup?

Post Body

Hi everyone,

I run a small startup that focuses on language exam preparation, such as IELTS, and TOEFL , and I'm looking to develop my own ChatGPT-like model specifically for language assessment. My goal is to create a tool that can evaluate pronunciation, punctuation, and overall language structure, potentially integrating features such as speaking assessments, writing corrections, and feedback on grammar or style.

I’d like to ask the community for advice on:

  1. What are the major steps involved in developing such a model, considering I want to customize it for language exams?
  2. What would the approximate time and cost be, especially for a small startup like mine with limited resources?
  3. Are there specific tools, platforms, or pretrained models that can help reduce the cost and development time for this project?
  4. Any advice or experience on scaling a custom AI model for thousands of users without breaking the bank?

I would appreciate any guidance or advice on this, especially if you’ve gone through a similar process!
