Hey everyone,
A financial analyst with ten years of VC experience offered to take 1% equity in my startup. In exchange, heβll handle financial modeling, investment memos, setting up the data room, and help us secure Series A investment with his big tech connections. He wants a year-long advisory role, coaching me twice a week, and believes with a $1M seed, our company could be valued at $5M, making his 1% worth $50K.
Should I accept this deal? What should his advisory roles and responsibilities be? Should there be any vesting for the equity? Any advice would be appreciated!
