Why is the crew of Discovery so bland
Post Body

I've watched 2 seasons of Discovery now, and outside of Burnham, and Saru, I could not even tell you the names of the rest of the bridge crew. They were all just basically NPCs. Every other Star Trek I've watched, the crew all had pretty dynamic personalities that were able to play off each other well, and that's probably one of Star Trek's biggest strengths, as a franchise. But Discovery I find just really missed the mark on this crew. They're not interesting and basically serve zero purpose story-wise.
