Most people don't realize their actual motives behind the things that they do and the choices they make.
Carl Jung would say that "nature treats them with indifference", but I tend to disagree.
If something to you has proven itself to be "wrong" to you, whether it be by feeling, intuition, trial and error, or life experimentation, and you do it again, I'd argue that the intelligence of the Universe takes this into account.
Some people make the same mistakes over and over again because it never becomes conscious.
I'd be willing to bet a sly, cunning and ;)'y shiny dollar that as soon as it becomes conscious, it never happens again. As playful as that sounds, the road from "unconscious" to "conscious" can be brutal, and it has to be, otherwise there's nothing to contrast the lols that happen when you stop pushing for what you think you want, dearest doggo.
But what would I know? I'm just a piece of shit after all.
