I'm really enjoying the Fortuna level overall, by how frantic it is in gameplay and how it stands out in setting compared to the rest of the game, but the final boss is really killing it for me. What's the best way to defeat it overall? Trying to gun him down with the Walker in the center area, following him via Arwing, or something else? Thanks to everyone that will reply!
When you start the battle you will be flying right at him. Just aim up and destroy the chest weak point before you fly under his platform. He should get up and start flying around and this is where the fun part begins. My fastest way of defeating him is to ignore the tail altogether, instead of chasing directly behind him, try to come at him from the side and turn so you can lock onto one of his final two weak points on his back, launch a bomb once you lock on and it will home in on him. At this point he should fly below the clouds and kick up a dust storm. Get on the central platorm and just sort of barrel roll from left to right until he gets ready to land again. Keep focusing on locking on and bombing the remaining weakpoints, but be aware that he will try and actively chase you down at times, so fly under the platform to shake him off.
The reason I recommend not engaging the tail is because it will only attack you if you are directly behind it, so you gotta sway back and forth while shooting his twitchy ass tail and it just takes forever sometimes, especially when he files away and pushes you back. The tail is entirely optional to destroy, but even if you do, it will come back once he re-emerges from the clouds.
