Questions regarding Custom rigs, Datajacks and Computers

If I were to get the custom rig as a brain implant would I be able to interface with computers/other systems in the world as if I was using a datajack? Or would I need to buy the tier-1 datajack at character creation to be able to use the rig at all? (seeing as its in my head and not a device I can carry around)

Also it seems like there is a lot of overlap between the custom rig and the computer in terms of what they can do. Would there be any real need to buy a computer as a mechanic, if so whats the point of the custom rig?
