Hello from our little community of TriangleStarcraft! I won't waste your time upfront, so here's the important details:
This guide to Raleigh life, food, and transportation should be enough to get you up and running right away during the festivities here in the City of Oaks, so go ahead and give it a read-through. We've got drinks, food, late-night options, and more, organized by neighborhood and carefully compiled by those of us at /r/TriangleStarcraft .
In fact, feel free to check out /r/TriangleStarcraft, our official home here on reddit. While you're at the event, you'll want to follow @SCTuesdays on Twitter and Like the official SCTuesdays Facebook page. Both will have live updates on-the-ground of our group's activities and meetups.
If you want to join the action, use the twitter hashtag #TriangleSC when tweeting at or about us so that others at the event can search for and easily find your messages. Feel free to use this hashtag to organize food runs, alert others of open seating, or even just to share photos of yourself and your friends enjoying the show!
We'll be carefully monitoring all our social media to alert the greater community of anything cool you guys set up and we'll also be organizing our own official dinners, brunches, group photos, and more.
Currently, we're set to have dinner at The Oxford Pub near the Convention Center in downtown Raleigh at 6PM on Saturday. That should give us more than enough time to eat, drink, and be merry before dashing back to MLG in time for the WCS Finals. There are also plans to hit up somewhere Sunday morning for brunch--I hear tell that Tir Na Nog has a great Sunday brunch, but then again, we're not so far from poor-breakfast favorites like IHOP and Waffle House, either!
Our "official" meetup spots are the Dr Pepper booth inside the convention center and most likely the large statue outside of the convention center (the "uphill" side), but when getting your own stuff together, do whatever you feel is best.
What are TriangleSC and SCTuesdays ? We're all the result of a few smaller communities within the "Triangle" area (that's from Research Triangle Park, formed by the major universities in Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill) coming together out of love for Starcraft. For the last year or so, we've been getting together for a variety of events which have grown into monthly barcrafts at local sports bar Blincos (some super cool dudes) that are sponsored by local businesses like Roth Brewery and gaming companies like TTeSports --heck, MLG themselves have helped us out with some cool swap in the past! We also have a weekly meetup at Blincos to play Starcraft (customs, 2v2s, and occasionally tournaments!) called SCTuesdays --oddly enough, these take place on Tuesdays!
TL;DR: Follow @SCTuesdays on Twitter and Like the official SCTuesdays Facebook page for constant updates over the weekend and use the #TriangleSC hashtag to communicate with the others at the event. Use the TriangleStarcraft guide to Raleigh life, food, and transportation to figure out where to go and how to get there!
