A couple questions about the Starcraft 2 Battle Chest

Post Body

I see Amazon has two listings for a Starcraft 2 Battle Chest, one including only Wings of Liberty and Heart of the Swarm, and one including all 3 parts of the game. The first is listed as PC/Mac while the second is listed as just PC. Is the complete collection also compatible with Mac or no, and if no, why? (You can spare me the PC elitism by the way, I know Windows PCs are preferable for gaming, but OG Starcraft was one of the few PC games I actually played and my PCs tend to be Macs).

Also, and this is my main concern, and has been my main concern for a long long time; is it still true that game activation requires an internet connection? My Starcraft Battle Chest can be played offline, my Warcraft III Battle Chest can be played offline, my Diablo II Battle Chest can be played offline, even Diablo III can be played offline on the PS4 version.

Do I need internet access to play/activate/verify-my-purchase of Starcraft II in order to play an offline custom map or mode with the retail disc copy of the game? I've been told repeatedly since release that the game forces you to access offline custom modes through the online multiplayer area of the game, which requires an internet connection. Is this still true?

I loved the original Starcraft, I want physical retail copies of my games, and I hate companies that gate off content behind private servers (which, surprise, surprise, is why I still haven't played Overwatch). Blizzard has been doing some seriously scuzzy shit for a while now (it's a particularly impressive feat to create a game so culturally impactful that you invent another country's national sport, only to then turn around and break that country's laws by selling a functionally broken game and refusing to refund customers (which is one more reason why I hate this online-only practice)).

I've seen what Starcraft II has to offer, all of it's improvements and awesome mechanical tweaks, and I'm sure I would love it, but the main thing I went back to Starcraft for was my ability to play offline against bots, create maps, and custom gametypes. Even though the AI was half stupid and half omniscient, it was still fun to go 1 Zerg v 7 Terran FFA and just spend the whole game stealing Command Centers. I'd like to know that this internet requirement for the offline custom modes are gone, or at least that there is enough replayable content in the offline single-player mode (assuming the whole game doesn't require internet activation) to justify it's purchase. If not, I'm just going to pass on this game indefinitely, cause I'm sick of this online-only shit.
