Things you would tell yourself if you were a beginner again?

Hey StarCraft community,
On a pastor's request, I started playing StarCraft 2 (to also uphold my Korean lineage). As I'm new to the game, myself and two other friends have been trying to figure out how to play, but as with all games I assume that there is more to it than just the tutorials or campaigns. We're all terrible with meta plays and we love doing ridiculous/crazy/risky shit.
TL;DR any advice for new StarCraft 2 players? Links and videos are appreciated as well.
