Macro Mechanics Discussion
Post Body

Hello everyone, now this first section of the post is important so please read. I want to have a calm and collected discussion about the proposed macro mechanic changes. Please refrain from bashing others views, or excessive cursing. If someone decides to ignore this please just ignore them, downvote, and move on to someone who actually wants to discuss the topic.

So I am on the fence about this change. I can see how blizz wants to make the smaller aspects of the game a little simpler so that new players can have an easier learning curve. I can also understand that with so many micro units, its hard to find time in the macro to use the unit to its potential. I know when me and my buddy play archon, I have been able to bring completely lost games back with just a handful of mutas, and constant harass. This rarely happens in my 1v1 games because at that point where i am just behind enough compared to my opponent i am struggling just to keep up.

With Starcrafts Mechanically challenging history I can also understand how it is the life blood of how we all know how to play. This has been the norm for us for so long that it is similar to ratifying woman's suffrage in america. Tradition is important but change is eventually needed for survivability.

Just as a side not I got a little drunk and was talking to a buddy of mine about this. I was explaining why this proposed changed was a big deal. Then it hit me, if this does go through in some form, then a few years after the release, those new players that have never played HoTS or lower will never have known the struggle. I would be able to say, well back in my day. Just though it was amusing.

Anyway, i would like to know your thoughts on the subject. Please again be respectful to others in this post. It only makes you look like an idiot when you trashpost. Thanks, and i am interested and eager to talk about this.

Remeber explain your case blizz may somehow end up here and read your comment.

Quick addition: Regardless of the 1v1 change, i would like to see Archon mode keep with traditional macro gameplay. It gains the most from this out of all game types.

Reference for those who do not understand the thread topic. Blizzard is considering automating macro mechanics such as mules, injects, and chronoboost. A more detailed listing of proposed options can be found near the bottom of the feedback post here
