I want to start off by saying this game allows for so many awesome adventures. Today, I decided to take a contract for a mission approx 100,000 km away from the station I was currently docked at. Doesn't really seem that far at first, but a little later I'll tell you how 100,000 km turned in to what felt like 100mil km. I completed a bunker mission and to my suprise I found a loot crate full of minerals worth over 100k (I'm a new player so this is a lot for me).

Upon exiting the atmosphere I am suddenly ambushed by a Pirate Player Killer. We engaged in a dog fight and to my suprise I was the victor...... but at what cost? Upon trying to QT back home I discovered that my ship's cooler was starting to fail. I was able to spool up and make it to the planet that housed my Space station... but I was still approx 1k km away.

I was almost home....then my cooler completely failed. Then, the moment my ship started to throttle up I went in to a spin!. My power plant had started to over heat and I sustained another malfunction causing a Torque Imbalance. I completely powered down my ship until the spinning came to a stop. Once stable, I once again made my ship Flight ready, this time leaving the engines off to hopefully avoid an overheat or another malfunction. The ship powered back on as floated in to the empty darkness. I had a feeling to make it work I had to decrease my power draw and only use what was necessary. I boldy cut power to my weapons, fearing another pirate attack I left my shields online. The engines turned on with no problem! I began to throttle forward.... only to discover I could not move....I was stuck in space.

Not fully understanding the mechanics behind my ship I frantically parsed through each of my ship's on-board menus. I came to the conclusion that even though my power plant was failing there must be a way to get it enough juice to make it to the station! I cut power to both shields and weapons and overclocked the engine. To my suprise my QT began to spool up!

Alas I felt some relief and felt Triumphant!.... But I wasn't done there. Upon coming out of QT I was only 20 km from the space station! Little did I know this would be the longest 20km of my life...As I began to throttle forward to home a sudden warning came across my HUD. My powert plant had failed! Apparently I squeezed all the left over juice I had during QT and now my ship experienced total shutdown. Nothing I did would power the ship back on, no way to divert power! As I began to float away from home I made a snap decision....I abandoned ship and was going to spacewalk my way....over 20km.

For the next HOUR I had my W key pinned down and was just floating through darkness, only hearing the sound of my breathe and thoughts inside my head. My hydration and sustenance became dangerously low and hope quickly turned to despair. Half way there the darkness crept up on me and I could hear voices telling me...." Hhhhooooolllllddddd Baaacckkspacceee yoooouuu Idiottttt". But No! I REFUSE! I was determined to make it home WITH my loot. I didn't go through all of that to give up now!

Then, as Sun began to peak at me from beyond the near by planet I could see a landing pad!! I floated to the door with my hydration at 5 percent. I managed to store my loot! But, I wasn't finished....I was determined to survive. Dazed and dehydrated I dragged my self to the medical clinic where the nice folks there got me patched up and alas....I was home. I fucking love this game.
