Manager wanted to keep all of us until normal close with a severe winter storm outside
Post Body

Hello, Im here to rant, about how in the world my manager thinks its okay to do this. In my state, it has been snowing sense 12pm it is now 11 and hasn't stopped a steady flow sense.

Being a minor I have my little shitbox of a car, (2004 ) that has been struggling with the little bit of snow that has already fallen, its two wheel drive and is not great at handling this northern midwest weather.

My school was let out two hours early today because of how bad this storm was gonna be (projected 6-10 in) yet my manager still wanted us to come in

my shift ended at 7:30.

At 5:30 our second SM was supposed to come in but called out because their car was now in the ditch and needed to be towed

We then proceeded to call the manager. She informed us that we can start closing at 7:30 instead of 9:30. great cool whatever.

with that series of phone calls we were also informed that "hey, almost all the snow plows have been taken off the road because it is too dangerous"

wtf

my weather app was advising to not travel unless absolutely needed. Cool great, really excited about that one. We are all inside and see the snow just piling up over the hour and you could feel the tension building up. like. oh shit. i might not be able to get home tonight.

7:30 hits and i clock out. wait for my drink to be made and then go outside to scrape my car off. i get in and start backing up and, fuck, im stuck.

We had already locked the doors so i couldn't got back inside so i was outside banging on the door for help. They let me in and i start bawling. Like. How tf am i supposed to get out?

Thank god my SM has a shovel.

sike, that doesn't work.

we weighed down my car and tried pushing it and tried reversing and we still couldn't get it out. So i had to have my mom get me.

SIKE HER CAR IS STUCK TOO!

so we had to call her BOYFRIEND to get me out. It took an hour after my shift was over to get me a ride home. and another half hour to get me home. at 9pm

and i have to work tomorrow at 8:30 :)
