This thread is for complete verbal slip ups that (most likely) were unintentional. I don't mean rude and profane remarks out of anger or spite. Just, things that happened to find their way out your mouth..
I work at a Target Starbucks and that day the opener along with the closer had called out. I was the other opener so I had to wait till the other closer came in to relieve me, which meant I was going to be working by myself. It wasn't an issue until I remembered it was a Saturday and I'd have to had to do restocking myself. When the rush finally died down I turned off the lights and began getting cups, lids, inclusions, teas, etc etc, you name it. It was like opening mid day. I go to the back to get milk and wow what a surprise there is a line of 8 people out of nowhere. I tell them I'm closed right now but i should be up and running in about half an hour. People disperse but one guy stays and asks "What do you mean you're closed?" In my head I'm like "c'mon dude" but I tell him we're closed, and I point up to the lights to point out that their off. Then he makes a face and walks off.
Fast forward five minutes. I'm restocking the condiment bar and he's behind me (with his kid behind him) waiting for me to turn around. Once I do, he catches me off guard by saying "You have no idea how dumb you made me feel. You are such a condescending dick. It doesn't matter if the lights are off! There was a line! What the fuck am I supposed to think?" By the look on his face I can tell he's expecting a real answer and without think I just say "bro, you don't follow the herd. What are are you, a sheep?"
He looks at me. I look at him. He's cursing at me and his son is trying to apologise for him. Im trying to think of why I said that, and there goes my day.
