It's actually a lot worse of a situation than that. I work in a licensed Starbucks at a grocery store and have never worked at an actual Starbucks. I feel like making a list of everything my manager does would be easier so here it is.
two baristas quit and moved onto other jobs because they were tired of our manager.
we've caught her in a couple lies. She once told us that she was on her way to a store an hour away to borrow some inventory from them. She lied, our store manager brought us inventory from the store next to her house the very next day. This has happened another time.
She constantly leaves her shift early, when there's no coverage, to do personal business. She left yesterday to go "apply for food stamps and medi cal." There were two new girls there that needed to be trained, and she left them with another co-worker of mine who is not a certified barista trainer. Big no-no, right? She's also left early to go to the beach on two occasions..
When i first got hired on, she left another barista, one of the girls who quit who is also not a certified barista trainer, to train me.
She has no "second" (Someone who does her ordering for her when she's gone, takes charge of her duties when need be.) and she has no intention of finding one either.
She is requesting 16 vacation days in the month of August. Especially with two new hires, she shouldn't be doing something like that.
We are consistently out of product because she does not know how to order. She comes in once a week at 1 am, five hours before the store opens, to "order." Yesterday alone we were out of: lemonade, mocha, green tea, skinny mocha, creme base, coffee base, down to one bottle of light base, and matcha. Not to mention, it was supposed to be our load day. Come to find out, she didn't submit her order so we're screwed...
She tries to play buddy-buddy when she's with all of us. She reveals personal information that none of us need nor want to know about. Even information about her sex life.
There have been other instances like this, and probably things worse than what I've mentioned. This is all that I can remember right now.
There are three of us that have been there for a while and we're all completely sick of her. I guess that I just wanted to get this out there and if any of you read this, see what your opinions are about this. I want to contact HR, because the store manager sees everything but he hasn't done anything about it.
What would you do?
