This is probably a really dumb wuestion but yh i was doing some more research on Stanford (going to apply in a couple days) and i came across the fact that dorms rooms do not come with air conditioners. The reason was that the school is committed to energy efficiency or something along those lines. This doesn't really make sense to me because if the reason is clean power can't they just use solar panels to power the additional air conditioners or something. I only feel like its a problem because it must get hot in California or even a bit chilly depending on the time of year. So yeah what is reason for the no air conditions and does it become a problem?
Tl:dr what is the actual reason for no ACs in dorm rooms and because of it does the temperature become a problem or not
