MLR - Access to the X18 lab?

I've been playing this mod for a while already with the "standard" main quest from CoC.

I've gotten to the point of having to go to the X-18 lab, but I "don't know the path" yet (I went to the building, tried to cross the door, and the message appeared).

I've gone through most of the zones located to the south (Rostok, Yantar, the vehicle graveyard) and found a shitload of paths already, but this seems to be something special I'm missing (As I don't think such an important path would be given to the player on a random basis).

Am I missing something? Some NPC to talk to or place to go?
