CoC - Crash on story mode in Yantar (Long post warning)
Post Body

tl;dr: Game crashes on Yantar (And only on Yantar, other resource-heavy maps like Garbage works fine) upon load a save with what seems to be an "out of memory" error. Trying to understand "what" is causing the crash to see if it can be fixed it and keep playing.

So, I've been playing on and off for the last weeks, using several mods (Including DoctorX story and dynamic factions stuff), without almost any problem (save the ocassional random crash). But when arriving to Yantar, and upon game loading, the game crashes badly with a "Not enough storage space to process this command.".

I'm playing story mode (so, no DoctorX story quests enabled), -nopreftech launch option and was going back to Yantar to get my psi helmet after waiting for some days. The situation is as follows:

1) Map change.

2) Going towards Yantar base.

3) Got a quest to defend the base from a lot of zombies.

4) Check upon the doctor a sidequest and got the helmet.

5) Emission.

6) Go out and start shooting the zombies from 3.

7) Complete the defend the base mission and move into the lab.

All right, from points 3-4 onwards, all saves get corrupted (As in they produce the above mentioned exception), but loading the map from the initial autosave (Point one) still works.

I've tried using the 3GB patch and, as stated in this other thread, it did not solved the issue. Still, I can say that it do works for its intended purpose, as I've done some checks and upon loading the Yantar map, the memory consumption of the Stalker main process exceeds the 2GB. Curiously, trying to load a corrupted save after this leads to an almost immediate crash (where trying to load a save from the main menu leads to a long load time, then the crash).

So, any pointer at why this situations is happening would be extra helpful. My current guess is that is has something to do with the "defend the base" mission (Lot of zombies spawning, lot of weapons on the floor and such), although the fact that, when loading the autosave, the STALKER executable surpassed the 2GB max puzzles me (If it can surpass those 2GB on initial load, why do the error appears after that?). I've seen around people having similar problems and fixing it deleting specific actors, so I'm wondering if removing corpses/items would help.

Oh, and also, I've been at Yantar before with no problems. Also with no "defend the base" missions.

Most of the mods I have are of graphical nature (Autumnal Winds, Arsenal Overhaul, Outfit Addon and such), and some specific tweaks like bigger torchlight. I can provide a comprehensive list, if that helps.

So, any idea? Sorry if the post is too long/technical. I've been battling with this little bugger for some days already...
