S.T.A.L.K.I.N.G after Call of Pripyat. Where to go now.
Post Body

Well, after several bugs, reinstallations and problems (PSA: DON'T install Call of Pripyat Remake Mod, I'll write a post on its own on why), I finally beaten Call of Pripyat.

Now, I want to explore a bit more Pripyat, go back to get some unfinished business done, beat the shit out of the Zaton mercs and the Major will be able to actually rest.

Anyway, the Major can rest, but I want more. I've been lurking around and a bit of moddb, and I should ask, which should be my next step? Recommendations, personal experiences, whatever are greatly appreciated.

  • Lost Alpha seems to be the next logical step, as it was released long enough to have enough patches and bugfixes. Sadly, it seems there's not a lot of compatible mods to it.

  • I just re-discovered Stalker Soup, which seems to be HUGE, but strangely it seems no one talks about it nowadays around here, even though there's some development still going on.

  • Call of Chernobyl seems to be the hot stuff nowadays, with lots of addons/mods being released and really cool features. This seems to be a stable, logical second step.

  • Misery which I'll probably play when I'm unemployed or on holidays, as it seems to be way too hardcore for someone who works on office hours.

  • The Faction Wars seems to be only worthwile mod for Clear Sky, but I have a strong feeling that Call of Chernobyl does this way better.

And... that's all? I'm missing something old no one talks about nowadays but it was the hot shit back in the day?
