Which one of the neighboring countries are the preference of the people to come in and aid?

So many articles and reports of neighboring asian and african countries coming in to 'assist' the people. But we all know what it is, a land and resource grab for soft power. At this point, India, China and US are the top contenders. But I am curious as an outsider who would the people prefer to come in?
