Are there local meetings of political parties?

So Reddit, I come to you with a question. Unfortunately, I’m a recent returnee after years abroad, and quite unknowledgeable about these things.
Are there local meetings for political parties? This is more so I could participate in the meetings and so on. Of course, I could be disillusioned and think that these meetings actually result in some things, but doesn’t hurt to try.
Any advice would be helpful in the matter.
