Hi all,

Hoping to land in Sri Lanka on Monday or Tuesday for a 12 or so day break from life in London, UK. Any tips or general advice to a first timer in what I've heard is a stunning place?

I'm hoping to head to Weligama to surf, but don't have any strict plans in place. Was thinking of heading there straight away tbh, there's a surf camp there that's been highly recommended to me.

I land at around 13:00 and was thinking of getting a sim pretty much straight away and then not really sure the best way to get myself from the airport to Weligama (or wherever else someone recommends).

I'll be backpacker travelling and am not afraid of hostels, just wanna have a good time here and come back rested with good memories and some good pics too (I'll be bringing my Nikon, but I'm no pro).
